The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics is excited to announce the 10th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium, themed "A Decade of Energy Transition: Adapting for Tomorrow”, scheduled to be held on 3-5 June 2025. This milestone event marks the 10th anniversary of HAEE’s flagship conference, celebrating a decade of significant contributions to the global energy landscape.
Over the past ten years, the Symposium has been at the forefront of fostering dialogue, sharing insights, and driving innovation in the energy sector. It has brought together thought leaders, industry experts, and policy makers to address the complexities of the energy transition. Through rigorous debate, cutting-edge research, and collaborative problem-solving, the Symposium has become a vital platform for creating real-world solutions.
This year, the HAEE Energy Transition Symposium will focus on strategies for scaling up renewable energy sources to meet national and EU climate goals for 2030 and 2050. Topics include policy incentives for clean energy investments, energy storage technologies for intermittent renewable sources, the expansion of offshore wind in the Aegean, and the role of alternative fuels in Greece’s decarbonization strategy. Upgrading energy infrastructure to support renewable energy integration and improve resilience is crucial. This can be achieved through smart grids, cross-border interconnectivity, modernizing transmission and distribution networks, and enhancing grid security. Ensuring a fair and inclusive energy transition can accelerate the path to net-zero by creating jobs, supporting local communities, and implementing financing mechanisms to combat energy poverty.
Considering these pressing issues, the HAEE Energy Transition Symposium aims to foster critical dialogue and collaboration among key stakeholders in the energy sector. By bringing together diverse perspectives from academia, industry, and policymaking, the symposium provides a unique opportunity to explore innovative solutions and share cutting-edge research that will drive the transition towards a greener, more resilient energy future.
Stay tuned for more!
