On May 18, 2022, the ambitious, difficult but realistic journey to wean Europe off Russian Natural Gas officially began with REPowerEU. The necessary transformation of the energy sector creates new data, challenges but also opportunities both in Europe and in Greece. Energy security and the containment of high prices are at the heart of the EU's strategy. The great reinforcement of RES and the diversification of energy sources mainly with LNG create the right environment for significant investments in infrastructure and network strengthening. The energy market is transforming in the short and long term, with the acceleration of renewable energy licensing and bilateral contracts playing a key role in the developments. Greece is transforming into an energy hub with important projects being implemented or planned, such as the FSRU in Alexandroupolis, the Revythoussa upgrade and the Greece Egypt Interconnector.
All the above issues will be discussed at the conference "The role of RES and Natural Gas in the country's new energy model with REPowerEU", organized by the Hellenic Association for energy Economics-HAEE under the auspices of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on 7 July 2022 with the participation of political leadership, energy market executives, energy managers and local government.
The conference is under the auspices of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Strategic Partner of the event is the HELLENIC SOCIETY of Environment and Culture.
The conference will be held in Greek and it will take place with physical presence of speakers and audience.
