The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE) is delighted to have supported the WEC-GGC, which held a meeting in Brussels on the 26th of November 2018, regarding the role of natural gas in the future European Energy Mix. The round-table took place at the European Parliament, with the participation of members of the European Commission and Parliament, including Mrs. Maria Spyraki Member of the European Parliament - ITRE Committee and Spokesperson of Nea Demokratia party and Mr. Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, Director of Internal Energy Market at EU Directorate-General of Energy.
HAEE is delighted to have supported Athens Exchange Group, to an actual understanding of the overall Natural Gas Market, in a repeated two- day seminar, from November 19th to November 20th 2018, in Athens Exchange.
Developed by three experts on the field, this course outlines topics related to gas infrastructure, storage and regulatory issues. It concentrated on the economics of Gas, and discussed topics such as trading strategies and price management with derivatives.
Besides, the course explained the current developments in the European wholesale Gas Markets and the opportunities presented in Greek Market.
ESCP Business School, RCEM and HAEE successfully organized the "Energy developments in SE Europe: Riding the Global Trends", a roundtable discussion on the 28th of November 2017, where Mr. Nikolas Papadopoulos, Leader, Democratic Party (DIKO), Mr. Rikard Scoufias, Consultant, frm General Manager for Greece, TAP, Mrs. Melina Josserand, General Counsel, LNG Marketing and Trading, Tellurian, Mr. Yannis Bassias, Chairman, Hellenic Hydrocarbons Management, Mr. Menelaos Ydreos, Executive Director, Public Affairs, International Gas Union, Tasos Garis, Consultant, HAEE, Head of Energy Strategy & Planning and Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos, Chairman of HAEE, Professor at the ESCP Europe Business School presented their views on the energy course of Cyprus and Greece.
Energy security is a key topic on the international security agenda. The two-day conference was a high level forum providing insights to transform the energy landscape of our world. The conference brought together energy experts from business, government, international organizations, political realm and industry as well as leading researchers and civil society representatives.

The 1st AIEE Energy Symposium Current and Future Challenges to Energy Security aims at providing a forum for an analysis of the new developments and a new vision of the future framework for energy security and will try to define the energy priorities for the next years and the action to be taken.

How to overcome current market fragmentation and to foster more liquid cross-border markets in the region? What are the regional infrastructure needs and how can the necessary investments be attracted to further ensure more effective development and use of infrastructure in the region? The conference topics will cover the current trends in the design of energy markets, the modern financing techniques in energy with emphasis in sustainable development, the new technologies in power generation and energy management along with the best practices in energy projects development.
