The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics, in cooperation with the Hellenic Operational Research Society, is happy to host the Virtual Discussion titled “The Decarbonization Plan | On the Road to a Just Transition”, on Thursday, June 25th, at 16.00-17.00, powered by the Public Power Corporation S.A. (PPC S.A.).
The new National Energy and Climate Plan (ESEK) highlights the key priorities of our country in the sectors of energy and climate change, while at the same time, it constitutes a strategic tool in achieving the 17 UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
In the framework of the national strategy for accomplishing the climate and energy goals, and complying with the long-term European vision for an economy that will not impact on climate, the Decarbonization Plan has a key role, targeting at a lignite-free national power production system by 2028.
The Decarbonization plan, the measures that will be adopted for the support of the Greek lignite areas, the benefits from the rationalization of the electricity production costs and the long-term environmental protection are only some of the topics that will be assessed during the Virtual Discussion.
