The largest Conference on Ecomobility is co-organized for the 5th consecutive year by the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE) and the financial portal insider.gr, on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Hellenic Motor Museum, a venue of symbolic character.

The recent announcement by the Prime Minister regarding the prohibition of sales of new cars with internal combustion engines starting from 2030, the rapid increase in sales of electric cars in the last year within a framework of incentives by the Greek state, as well as the dynamic entry of many companies in the infrastructure and charging services, give rise to the creation of a new transport ecosystem, which is an important driver of economic growth with new employment opportunities.

The urgent need for adequate development of publicly accessible chargers combined with the available financing tools from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the Green Fund, the Just Transition Fund and the Decarbonisation Fund for the Greek Islands is a big challenge, as huge progress will have to be made in the infrastructure that will support ecomobility and reduce the so-called "range anxiety" of drivers.

The Greek islands are transformed into innovative "ecomobility laboratories" with the prototype green mobility project in Astypalaia, on the one hand, and the development of the national initiative GR-eco islands, on the other hand. The latter has already started with the island of Halki, which is being transformed into a model of green economy, energy autonomy, digital innovations and ecomobility.

Developments in electromobility are rapid and new technologies, such as the V2G technology, which utilizes the electric car as a means of energy storage and flexibility of the electrical system, along with innovative, intelligent charging technologies that are being developed, create a new environment.

Ecomobility can give a high added value to the Greek economy through the creation of new jobs, innovative projects and actions Made in Greece!

With the participation of representatives from the central political scene, the private sector, and the academic field, the great dynamics, challenges but also the opportunities of the new era of ecomobility in Greece, will be highlighted through original discussion fora.

The EcoMobility Conference will be held in Greek with physical presence of speakers & participants, taking all protection measures against Covid-19.
