IPCC (AR6) report – Mitigation of Climate Change Carbon Brief reviewed the fundamental insights contained in the 2913 pages IPCC report which was released on the 4th of April 2022. Methane emissions from the US gas and oil sites A recent study published in Nature Communications estimates that the US gas and oil well sites responsible for around 6% of the total production generate approximately half of methane emissions located the production level. Each month we shine a light on a new topic of the energy sector by analysing the data and exploring possible implications. This small monthly publication is all about data visualisation of today's most intriguing trends. In the March edition, the Chart depicted the underground gas storage in Europe analyzing the current gas storage levels and the required injection until November 2022.
For April, the Chart focuses on the LNG & pipe imports, storage and cross-border transmission capacity, in the view of REPowerEU and the need of EU's energy future without Russian gas.

The Hellenic Association for Energy Economics and the Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET) organised an event on March 22, at 14.00, focusing on "The cost of energy transition and islands' decarbonisation" (in Greek). The discussion focused on islands' energy transition and their transformation into innovation hubs through investments in the sectors of energy and environment.
