Editorial
On August the 20th, Greece has successfully exited its final, three-year bailout program, agreed in August 2015 to help it cope with the continued fallout from a debt crisis, the euro zone’s ESM rescue fund. Reforms have taken place in all areas including the energy sector which has undergone the most radical changes (liberalization of the energy market, RES and gas penetration, large infrastructure projects, etc.). Businesses, banks, funds, investors, institutions and governments around the world have already been mobilized to develop strategies to promote sustainable growth. The dialogue between all these parts (states, institutions, universities, energy companies and financial institutions) is essential.
The Southeast Europe Energy Forum on September 7th in Thessaloniki will be an excellent opportunity for countries such as Greece, Balkans and the US to collaborate for this purpose.
