We are excited to announce that our flagship event, the 6th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium will be taking place from Tuesday, 28 September to Friday, 1 October 2021, at Theoxenia Palace Hotel, in Kifissia, Athens. The 4-day event will serve eye-opening discussions, interesting debates and exchange of views on crucial environmental, energy-related, social and financial issues. For 6 years in a row, the Symposium will bring together an international audience, including leading academics, students, government leaders, business professionals, top-tier media and other relevant stakeholders. The 6th Symposium will mount from the Covid-19 pandemic era and its prints on the global energy system. The pandemic along with the Energy Transition and Sustainability Challenges pave the way for structural changes of the energy sector with a sustainable approach. Governments and the public and private sector themselves need to take decisive actions, implement visionary strategies and innovative ideas, to reach the ambitious target of a net zero carbon economy and achieve a resilience recovery. On top of that, renewable energy solutions, decarbonization of islands, smart technologies, regulatory developments, and the transformation of gas sector can play a key role, providing a fast and sustainable response to the pandemic. These issues, along with the role of geopolitics and energy security in Eastern Mediterranean, will be thoroughly analyzed and addressed in detail during the Symposium’s sessions. The 6th edition of our annual Symposium will take place in hybrid format, offering the opportunity for physical and digital participation, connecting people, opinions, places and different time zones. Please note that all academic paper presentations will be made digitally. Both plenary and concurrent academic sessions will be live-streamed. Take a look at the final agenda! Mark your calendars! Get involved, through interactive conversations, in the energy transition process! “Look ahead with optimism, beyond the Covid era”!
