The 9th HAEE Energy Transition SymposiumStriving for Stability in a Highly Uncertain Energy World is just around the corner. In exciting news, additional, esteemed speakers are set to finalize the agenda speaker list, and we are more than happy to introduce them to you!

  

Today's energy risks and uncertainty challenges are highly featured on this conference agenda! The pillars of the discussions that will take place in next week's 9th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium from 22-24 May are covering the overall energy scene.

On Wednesday, May 22nd, the topics that will be explored include regulatory challenges at national and EU levels towards achieving net-zero emissions, as well as bottom-up energy policy approaches alongside harmonizing policies to tackle cross-border energy challenges. Our speakers will delve into strategies for navigating high RES penetration and future prospects of RES developments, such as offshore wind.

On Thursday, May 23rd, the discussions will continue on the future prospects and developments of RES integration, with a focus on the grid infrastructure investments and storage before shifting towards aspects of energy citizenship as a combatant to the energy poverty phenomenon. Moreover, the theme of innovation in the energy sector will be a key topic of the second day.

Finally, on Friday, May 24th, the Symposium will host a side event on the topic of “Energy Autonomy of the Greek Islands. The Role of Energy Communities”, powered by the research project IANOS (IntegrAted SolutioNs for the DecarbOnization and Smartification of Islands), focusing on the challenges and perspectives of the energy communities 🔗Invitation.pdf.

Overall remarks and discussions on the Greek energy market as a whole, highlighting the necessary restructuring focused on economic viability, system flexibility, security of supply, and managing risks in negative price environments, will finalize the conference’s discussions/
