Konstantinos Skrekas comes from Megarhi, Trikala. He is married to Eirini Karagouni and has two daughters, Alexandra and Sophia. He holds a Degree in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Technology), and an M.Sc. in Construction Management from the University of Birmingham, UK. After completing his studies, he worked in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector in managerial positions. He is the co-founder of a company operating in the FMCG sector and held the posisition of CEO for 15 years. In the general election of 6 May 2012 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament (MP) for the Constituency of Trikala with the New Democracy Party. He was re-elected on 17th June of the same year. On the 25th of January 2015 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament (MP), receiving the largest number of electoral votes among candidates from all political parties, in the Constituency of Trikala. He was re-elected in the elections on 20th September of the same year. In the general elections on 7th July 2019 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament for the Constituency of Trikala. During his terms of office in the Hellenic Parliament he has been a member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Standing Committee on Production and Trade, the Special Permanent Committee on Research and Technology and the Special Permanent Committee on Environmental Protection. He was also Shadow Minister for the Environment and Energy Sector for the New Democracy Party from January 2016 – June 2019. He was appointed Minister of Development and Competitiveness from October 2014 until February 2015. On 9th July 2019 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, being specifically responsible for the Common Agriculture Policy (CAP). On 5th January 2021 he was appointed Minister of the Environment and Energy. He speaks English and French.

Adonis Georgiadis was born on November 6th, 1972, in Athens.
He graduated from the Faculty of History & Archaeology of the School
of Philosophy of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
In 1993, he took over the management of publications 'GEORGIADISLIBRARY OF GREEK'. In 1994, he founded the Liberal Studies Center
"GREEK EDUCATION".
Elected MP in Athens B region in the elections of 2007 and 2009 with
the LAOS political party.
In February 2012, he joined the Nea Demokratia political party, having
resigned from the parliamentary office. Elected with Nea Demokratia
in Athens B in the national elections of 2012 and 2015.
In 2011, he was Vice Minister of Shipping in the Government of Lucas
Papademos and in 2013 he was appointed Minister of Health in the
Government of Antonis Samaras.
On January 18th, 2016, he was appointed one of the two VicePresidents of the Nea Demokratia by decision of Kyriakos Mitsotakis,
the President of Nea Demokratia.
On July 9th, Adonis Georgiadis was appointed as Minister of
Develpopment and Investments after the 2019 greek elections.
He is married to Eugenia Manolidou and they have two children,
Perseus and Alcaeus.

Kostas Karamanlis was born in Athens in 1974.
He has studied History and Economics at Hamilton College and earned an MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Tufts University. In January 2015 Kostas Karamanalis was elected to parliament with the party of New Democracy, and was re-elected in September 2015 and in July 2019.
From January 2016 since June 2019 he was the shadow minister of the New Democracy Party for Infrastructure and Transport.
After the 2019 election, Mr Karamanlis was appointed Minister for Infrastructure and Transport in the Cabinet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Before getting into politics, he worked from 2002 until 2004 in London for the UBS Warburg Bank. In 2004 he returned to Greece and started working as a chief executive at Mantinia Shipping Company. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the “Konstantinos G. Karamanlis” Foundation and of the Board of Overseers of the Fletcher School.

Matthew Lodge was commissioned as an officer in the Royal Marines on leaving school in 1986. He was sponsored through Birmingham University from where he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages (French and Russian). Subsequent duties with the Royal Marines included service in Norway and the United States, and a secondment to the Army which included an operational tour in Northern Ireland and service in Kenya.

Matthew joined the Foreign and Commonwealth office in 1996. His early diplomatic career included work on the Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean, service in Georgia and Armenia, and postings to Athens (1998-2000), Paris (2001) and the UK Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels (2001-2003). From 2004 to 2007 he was Private Secretary to the FCO Permanent Under Secretary and Head of the Diplomatic Service. In March 2007 Matthew was appointed as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Baghdad. On his return from Iraq, Matthew attended the Higher Command and Staff Course (2008) at the UK Defence Academy before being appointed as Head of the FCO’s Afghanistan Group.

From 2010 to 2013, Matthew was Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Finland and from August 2014 to summer 2017 Matthew was Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait. In spring 2017, Matthew was appointed as Minister at the British Embassy in Paris, serving concurrently as Ambassador and Permanent delegate to UNESCO (2017-2021). In August 2021 Matthew was appointed as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic.

Matthew is married to Alexia and they have twin boys.

Maria Spyraki is the awarded MEP of the year 2019 for Industry, Research, and Innovation. She is now serving in her second mandate in the European Parliament as member of the Committees on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE), on Regional Development (REGI) and the Environment (ENVI). Ms Spyraki is co-chair of the Intergroup on Climate change, biodiversity and sustainable development and rapporteur at the Renovation Wave for ENVI committee.

She has worked for 22 years as a journalist in her home country Greece. Also, she was a member of the Press Office of the European Parliament in Athens from 2003 to 2004, as well as the office of Greek Commissioner to the EU, Mr Stavros Dimas, for the period 2004-2009.

Maria Spyraki has served as the Spokesperson of Nea Demokratia and as an elected member of the Nea Demokratia Executive Board.

Her first degree is in Chemistry and she also has an MSc in Energy Law, Business, Regulation and Policy from International Hellenic University.

Nikos Tsafos serves as the chief energy adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece. A leading authority on energy, Nikos has worked with companies, banks and governments in over 30 countries on some of the world’s most complex energy projects. Most recently, he held the Schlesinger Chair for Energy and Geopolitics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and served on the Climate Advisory Committee of the Export Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). From 2016 to 2019, he was a lecturer at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Nikos has testified before Congress, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, the Canadian House of Commons, and the Alaska State Legislature. He has written extensively on energy, including for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, EURACTIV, the National Interest, and others. Nikos is also a regular commentator on current affairs: he has been quoted in The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Bloomberg, and he has appeared on CNN, NBC, the BBC, NPR, Al Jazeera, and other leading media outlets.

He holds a B.A. in international relations and economics from Boston University, and an M.A. in international relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS.

Stephen Littlechild is Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School and an Associate at the Energy Policy Research Group there. He is also Emeritus Professor at Birmingham University, where he was previously Professor of Commerce (1975-1989).

In 1983 he advised the UK Government on the regulation of British Telecom, proposing an RPI-X incentive price cap instead of conventional rate of return control. This model was adopted for most subsequent UK privatisations, and in various other countries.

He was a member of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission (1983-1988).

In 1988 he advised the UK Government on electricity privatisation, proposing then-novel concept of retail competition, which again has been widely adopted in many energy markets. He implemented this approach as the first Director General of Electricity Supply and head of the Office of Electricity Regulation (1989-1998).

Since 1999 he has been an international consultant on privatisation, regulation and competition, including in the electricity, telecommunications, water and airport sectors. He was also a non-executive Member of the Postal Services Commission (Postcomm) (2006-2011).

Dr. Athanasios Dagoumas is an Assistant Professor in Energy and Resource Economics and Director of the Energy and Environmental Policy laboratory at the University of Piraeus. He holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, where he elaborated his PhD in Energy Economics. He is Member of the Board of the Cambridge Trust for New Thinking in Economics. He has more than 15 years of work and research experience in energy related issues, including working as a Senior Researcher at the University of Cambridge and as a Senior Energy Analyst at the Transmission System Operator and at the Electricity Market Operator in Greece. Moreover he was enrolled as a Special Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change in Greece. His extensive experience builds his capacity for an in-depth understanding of multidisciplinary aspects of the energy sector: economic, engineering, environmental and policy. He is keen on developing models for the energy system, the economic-energy-environment (E3) systems and the real energy markets. He has been President to the Regulatory Authority for Energy since July 2020.

In September 2012, Naji Abi-Aad started acting as COO to Petroleb, an oil company based in Beirut and active in petroleum exploration offshore the East Mediterranean and the Gulf. In the meantime, Naji had been engaged with the US Tellurian as Senior Advisor for the Middle East from December 2016 to March 2020.

Prior to his move to Lebanon, Dr Abi-Aad was serving for eight years in Qatar, first as Research Advisor for Qatar Petroleum (QP) and its Board of Directors Department, and as Media and Research Strategist in the Office of HE Qatar’s Deputy Premier, Minister of Energy & Industry, before being appointed to top positions in Qatar Petroleum International (QPI).

Dr Abi-Aad studied in Beirut at the American University and Universite St Joseph before been awarded a Ph.D. degree in Energy Economics from Grenoble University in France. During his 35 years of experience, he has been involved in extensive consultations, conferences and studies, particularly on oil and gas in the Middle East, their resources and supply prospects. He has authored over 100 reports and studies on Middle East energy issues, as well as a book on security of petroleum supply from the region (“Instability & Conflict in the Middle East: People Petroleum & Security Threats, Macmillan, London 1997”).

He is the Chairman of the International Advisory Committee of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC). He was the Secretary General of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Economic Council and Saudi Arabia’s Governor to OPEC, president of the Saudi Economic Association, vice dean and professor of economics at King Saud University, and vice president of World Energy Counci. He was a member of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco Board of Directors, and the Board of trustees of the Economic Research Forum.

Professor Dr. Kostas Andriosopoulos is the Executive Director of the Research
Centre for Energy Transition & Sustainability Center at Audencia Business School
where he holds the position of full Professor in Finance and Energy Economics.
Kostas holds a PhD in Finance (Cass Business School, City University London),
where he has been the recipient of the prestigious Alexander S. Onassis Public
Benefit Foundation’s scholarship. He also holds an MBA and MSc in Finance
(Northeastern University, Boston, USA), and a bachelor’s degree in Production
Engineering and Management (Technical University of Crete, Greece). In
addition, Kostas held the position of Executive Director of the Research Centre
for Energy Management at ESCP Europe Business School.

In addition to his academic profile, he has an extensive professional experience in the business world and
has served as a business consultant in energy, food, web & software, commodity trading and shipping
industries. During September 2019 - February 2021 he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Hellenic Public Gas Company (DEPA), a position he also held for the period 2014-2015.
Since August 2018 he is Country Manager of Akuo Energy in Greece, a multinational company based in
France that develops RES projects in 17 countries around the world. In addition, he has worked as an
advisor to the Retail Banking Director and Managing Director for the British Bankers' Association (2007).
Kostas’ current interests include energy-related geopolitical issues, gas and LNG market dynamics, RES
investments, financial engineering and the application of operational research tools on risk management
and investment techniques in energy, shipping and agricultural commodity markets.
His work has been published in international finance and commodity-related Journals and has
participated as speaker in recognized conferences world-wide. He is the Associate Editor for the
International Journal of Financial Engineering and Risk Management, Member of the Editorial Board of
the Journal of Energy Markets, he has edited special issues in recognized journals, acts as a reviewer for
a number of academic journals, and has organized numerous international conferences.

Dr Cem Avcı is a Professor of  Civil Engineering at Boğaziçi University. He has received his bachelor’s degree from Bogazici University, his master’s degree from Princeton University and his PhD from Purdue University. He has been a faculty member at Bogazici University since 1989  is presently the Director of Energy Policy Research Center. He is also the Director of the AVERE – The European Association for Electromobility Turkish Chapter. His research interests are in the fields of Sustainability in Infrastructure Projects, Environmental and Social Impact assessments, Soil and Ground Water Quality Investigations and Remediation projects as well as Waste Management Studies. He has worked on Environmental and Social Impact Assessments Research related to Hydroelectric Power Plants, Wind farms, Gas Fired Combined Cycle Gas Power Plants, coal and mineral mines), infrastructure (motorways, tunnels and bridges, health campuses, container terminals, airports) and oil and gas (refineries, oil and gas (shale gas, large scale pipelines. Research include impact evaluation, methodology, risk ranking, mitigation measures and monitoring. He has been involved in the 

His most recent work involves assessment of climate change on renewable energy projects including hydroelectric power and wind power plants. The research involves watershed hydrology modelling to predict future potential performance on hydroelectric power plants. At the same time, he has been working on climate change risk assessment as well as transition risk assessments for multinational finance institutions for large infrastructure projects

Mariarosa Baroni has over 35 years of experience in the development of alternative fuels, contributing already in the 90s with her industry-leading engineering company to the birth of OEM gas-powered cars and developing an installation and maintenance network in hundreds of workshops of OEM dealerships.

In the same years, thanks to the experience gained at the Italian level, she contributed to the development of various international gas mobility markets, such as India and Iran, with local partners, operating mainly in the light and heavy duty OEM area.

The close collaboration with European and international OEMs has allowed her to promote Italian technology in the world as an expert marketing consultant and become a reference person for sustainable gas mobility at an international level.

In recent years she has dedicated her first experience to the promotion of natural gas and bio-methane (CNG and LNG) especially in Japan through institutional relations and local authorities.

Since 2013 Mariarosa has been President of NGV Italy continuing to promote and strengthen the leadership of Italian technologies for natural gas and bio-methane (CNG and LNG), blended fuels and hydrogen mobility.

Dr Fatih Birol (@fbirol) has served as Executive Director of the IEA since 2015. After taking office, Dr Birol led the IEA in its first comprehensive modernisation programme since its creation in 1974. These efforts focused on “opening the doors” of the IEA to major emerging economies; making the IEA the global hub for clean energy transitions; and broadening the IEA’s energy security mandate beyond oil to also cover electricity, natural gas, renewables and the critical minerals needed in many of today's clean energy technologies.

Dr Birol took up his current positon after rising through the ranks of the IEA over two decades. He joined as a junior analyst in the mid-1990s and rose to the position of Chief Economist responsible for the IEA’s flagship World Energy Outlook. Dr Birol has been named in the TIME100, TIME's annual list of the world's most influential people, and by Forbes as one of the most influential people in the world of energy. He chairs the World Economic Forum’s (Davos) Energy Advisory Board. He is the recipient of numerous state decorations, including the French Legion of Honour, the Japanese Emperor’s Order of the Rising Sun, the Order of the Polar Star from the King of Sweden and the highest Presidential decorations from Austria, Germany and Italy.

Before the IEA, Dr Birol worked at the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna for six years. He earned a BSc degree in power engineering from the Technical University of Istanbul and received an MSc and PhD in energy economics from the Technical University of Vienna. He is an honorary life member of Galatasaray Football Club.

Carlo Andrea Bollino is a Professor of Economics at the University of Perugia and Professor of Energy Economics at the University LUISS, Rome. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was supervised by Nobel laureate Professor Lawrence Klein. He has been a Visiting Researcher at KAPSARC since 2015, focusing on econometric analysis, electricity market reform and climate change policy analysis. He is a Visiting Professor at Technische Universität, Berlin, Germany, the President (honorary) of the Italian Association for Energy Economics.

He was the President of the IAEE in 2008, the President of GSE (Italian Renewable Energy Agency) and GRTN (Italian Electric Transmission network); Energy Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Ministry of Treasury of Italy; Chief Economist, ENI; Economist, Bank of Italy; and a Research Associate at Project Link for the United Nations. He has testified to the Italian Senate and Parliament briefings and has provided various governments with technical and policy reports on electricity market liberalization and renewable energy developments.

He is a mechanical engineer from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), with a PhD in the area of decision support systems for energy policy and management, from the ECE, NTUA. His scientific and research expertise includes the development of decision support systems for energy and climate policy. He has almost 2 decades of working experience in the design of energy and climate policies and programs for the promotion of renewables, energy efficiency and management in a regional, national and European level. Moreover, he participates as a specialist in respective initiatives beyond Europe, such as the countries of the Mediterranean basin and the Arab states of the Gulf. In the abovementioned fields, he has more than 120 scientific publications in international scientific journals with reviewers, the Greek Book "Multiple Criteria Decision Models for Energy and Environmental Systems", the open access Book as co-Editor "Understanding Risks and Uncertainties in Energy and Climate Policy: Multidisciplinary Methods and Tools for a Low Carbon Society", the English Book "Multicriteria Portfolio Construction with Python", as well as numerous presentations in international conferences, chapters in Books, articles in technical magazines and daily and weekly press. Panagiotis Doumas is a Director and Member of the Executive and Management Committee at Howden Hellas, having in his delegated authorities the business development and maintenance of big corporate accounts within a variety of territories. Panagiotis has been in the insurance world since 1999. He was a Managing Partner at Aplus Brokers, a boutique insurance broking firm, which he set up with his partners in 2017, specializing in Financial Lines (D&O, Cyber, Crime, Financial Institutions Professional Indemnity) and Energy, mainly Renewables. Aplus was the first acquisition of Howden Hellas due to their rapidly growing portfolio and expertise in the sector.

Currently an independent energy consultant, non-executive board member of Elinoil and senior advisor to Argus Consulting Group, Leo Drollas was born in British India of Greek and Anglo-Irish parents, and educated at Athens College in Athens, Greece, from which he graduated cum laude.  After Athens College, Leo Drollas attended the London School of Economics where he read economics.  Having obtained his B.Sc. (Econ) and M.Sc. (Econ) at the LSE, he then completed a doctorate at the same university, choosing as his thesis a country’s foreign trade sector in disequilibrium.  After leaving the LSE in 1975, Leo Drollas worked in London at the Commodities Research Unit and then joined British Petroleum in 1977 as the company’s first econometrician.  At BP he managed the energy and economic modelling team in the company’s Corporate Planning Department (1980-86) and was responsible for many studies on various aspects of the oil market.  Whilst at BP, Leo Drollas was seconded for two years to the Confederation of British Industry (1986-88), where he held the post of Deputy Director of Economics and completed two major studies — one on the attitude of British business towards exchange rates and the other comparing British and German manufacturing.  In 1989 Leo Drollas joined as its Chief Economist the Centre for Global Energy Studies (CGES), a think-tank founded in that year by Sheikh Ahmed Zaki Yamani, the former Oil Minister of Saudi Arabia.

Leo Drollas was the Deputy Director and Chief Economist at the CGES from 1989 until 2011, becoming in that year the CGES’ Director and retaining the title of Chief Economist.  During his time at the CGES, which ceased formal operations in January 2014, Leo dealt with subjects as diverse as oil prices in the long run, oil speculation versus fundamentals, oil’s shipping needs, the demand for aviation fuel, US gasoline demand, the relationship between oil inventories and prices, the determination of oil product prices, the factors driving oil production, oil capacity utilisation and oil prices, oil pipeline tariffs, OPEC’s oil-quota policies, Chinese oil demand, US and global demand for natural gas, the connection between desired oil stock cover and oil futures prices, and many more.  Leo Drollas co-authored with David Long of Oxford Petroleum Research Associates a major CGES study on the strategic hedging activities of oil companies and directed the CGES’ work on many aspects of the oil futures markets.

Over a career spanning 47 years, Leo Drollas has written many articles and studies on oil, energy and economics in general, and co-authored a book on oil with Jon Greenman entitled “Oil – the Devil’s Gold” [Duckworth, 1989].  He has spoken at numerous conferences on diverse oil and gas-related subjects, including the oil market in the short and long term, Asian oil demand, the oil futures markets, the world’s gas outlook, global warming, oil fundamentals versus speculation and non-OPEC oil supplies, among many others.  In 2014 Leo spoke at energy conferences in Abu Dhabi, Tokyo, Athens, Rotterdam, Milan and London, while in 2015 Leo delivered talks at the Cass Business School in London, at the ESCP Business School also in London, at ENI’s FEEM conference on oil price prediction in Milan and at the Mare Forum shipping and commodity conferences in Athens, Cyprus and Rotterdam.  In the last few years, Leo Drollas spoke at the Athens Energy Forum and at conferences in Abu Dhabi, Rome, Cyprus, Naples and Rotterdam.  Leo has appeared frequently on the business programmes of CNN, CNBC, ITV-1, BBC-1, the BBC’s World Service, Bloomberg TV, Al Jazeera, Sky News, Channel Four and other channels, and has contributed to numerous radio programmes in Europe, the Far East and the US.  Leo Drollas has been quoted regularly on the main wire services and in the world’s leading financial newspapers in the West and the Far East.

Between 1995 and his retirement in 2018, Prof Dr. Georg Erdmann was Professor for Energy Systems at the Institute for Energy Technology, Berlin University of Technology (www.ensys.tu-berlin.de) where he managed a research team of up to 15 scientists. Between 1982 and 1995 he was Post doc researcher and Assistant Professor in the group of Prof. Dr. Bruno Fritsch at the Center for Economic Research, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich (ETHZ). Part of this time was Delegate at the Paul Scherer Institute, Villigen (Switzerland) in the group of Prof. Dr. Alexander Wokaun. He is trained in Mathematics and Economics, and received his PhD in Economics at the University of Münster (Germany). In 1991 he received the Venia Legendi for macroeconomics by the Abteilung für Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften at the ETHZ.

Erdmann’s research fields cover energy economics including energy market modeling and forecasting, energy market reform, wholesale energy trade, investment strategies, financing and risk management. He combines this research field with the market entry analysis of new energy technologies such as fuel cells, battery electric vehicles, and other innovations. He has also research experience in industrial economics, environmental economics, evolutionary economics, and regional economics.

He is author of many scientific books and articles. His latest book publication is “Energy Economics. Theory and Applications” (2017), together with the co-authors Prof. Dr. Aaron Praktiknjo and Prof. Dr. Peter Zweifel. This book has become an international benchmark for university lectures on energy economics.

Erdmann is founder of the startup company Prognoseforum GmbH (www.prognoseforum.de) which is active in economic forecasting and energy consulting. He is still President of the Board, KSB Energie AG, Berlin which is engaged in providing energy trading services for small and medium sized companies. Among many other mandates he chaired the Gesellschaft für Energiewissenschaft und Energiepolitik (GEE; www.gee.de), which is the German affiliate of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). In 2009 he served as President of the IAEE. The most recent academic mandate is his membership in the ICEF-Steering Committee, Tokyo; the organization aims to discuss and develop feasible pathways towards carbon neutrality by means of technological, commercial, behavioral and political innovations.

Dr Bassam Fattouh is the Director of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES) and Professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). He has published a variety of articles on energy policy, the international oil pricing system, OPEC behavior, the energy transition, and the economies of oil producing countries. Dr Fattouh served as a member of an independent expert group established to provide recommendations to the 12th International Energy Forum (IEF) Ministerial Meeting in Cancun (29-31 March 2010) for strengthening the architecture of the producer-consumer dialogue through the IEF and reducing energy market volatility. He is the recipient of the 2018 OPEC Award for Research. He acts as an advisor to a number of governments and companies. He is a regular speaker at international conferences.

Areas of Expertise
Bassam Fattouh focuses his research on aspects of the international oil pricing system such as the relationship between the futures market and spot market, the relationship between OPEC and the market, the causes of oil price volatility and the dynamics of oil price differentials. He also focuses his research on the IOC-NOC relationship and its implications for investment behaviour. He has a strong background in the economic environment of the Middle East.

Nikos Frydas is Principal in the Energy Department and Vice President of Grant Thornton Tax and Business Advisory Solutions SA. His career spans more than 30 years of international experience in the energy sector. He specializes in the Design and Regulation of competitive Electricity Markets, and in new Business Models for energy utilities in the energy transition era.

Mr. Frydas’ professional record includes working with major European Utilities (National Grid UK, PPC) and Energy Trading firms (EDF Trading, Merrill Lynch), and as member of the management team of ENTSO-E in Brussels. In the period of 2004-2007 he was appointed by the United Nations, as the first Chairman of the Regulatory Office of Kosovo, while subsequently he spent several years as senior staff member of the World Bank based in Belgrade. As Consultant he has led several major assignments in Europe, Africa and Central Asia working for projects sponsored by IFIs (EC, EBRD, IFC, WB), for public and private clients.

Nikos holds a BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from DUTh (Greece), a MSc degree in Power Systems Engineering from University of Strathclyde (UK), and a MSc degree in Energy Economics and Regulation from University of Strathclyde. He holds also Certificates from London School of Economic and University Luigi Bocconi, for courses in Energy Regulation Economics.

Maria Rita Galli is the CEO of DESFA (Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator). Until recently she held the position of the Executive Vice President Business Development & Asset Management at Snam S.p.A, a leading global energy infrastructure company and was the Chairman of the SENFLUGA Energy Holdings S.A., a consortium controlling 66% of DESFA's share capital.

Ms. Galli started her career at Eni in 1997, as a graduate in nuclear engineering from the Milan Polytechnic University. At Eni, she went through various roles within the International Business Development Department, joined relevant international projects and was involved in M&A activities. Dr. Panagiotis Grammelis is Director of Research at the Chemical Process and Energy Resources Institute of CERTH (CERTH/CPERI). The scope of his research is the exploitation of solid fuels, i.e. biomass/waste and coal, with emphasis on the thermochemical conversion technologies. He is experienced in numerous EU and national funded and industry oriented projects, with an extensive knowledge of the South-East European market. Since May 2011, Dr Grammelis is Head of the Laboratory of Alternative Fuels & Technologies and guides a team of highly-skilled researchers. He has been Steering Committee member of the Biomass Panel in the RHC-ETP (responsible for industrial boilers and district heating), national expert for the standardisation of solid biofuels and member of DHC+ (District Heating & Cooling) Platform. Member of the Editorial Board in IJER and IJGW and the Scientific Committees of international conferences (EUBCE, GCGW, WSED). He is co-author in 380 papers in scientific journals, international conferences, workshops and books, with 2777 citations and h-Index 30 according to Scopus.

An expert on energy policy and European economic policy, Victor Grigorescu was Romania’s Minister of Energy from November 2015 to January 2017. He is currently working as an energy Consultant focused on EU affairs in SEE and CEE regions. A former member of the board of Electrica, one of Romania’s largest electricity distribution companies, he also has a background in diplomacy and international relations, having served at the Permanent Representation of Romania at the EU (2007-2011) as an expert for the EU’s common commercial policy. He actively took part in Romania’s accession negotiations to the EU during his time at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (2004-2007), focusing his work on international relations and the EU’s common commercial policy. Before being appointed minister of energy, he has published various articles on public policy and international relations in Romanian and has co-authored several works on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Peter Hartley is the George A. Peterkin Professor in the Economics Department, and a Rice Scholar in Energy Studies in the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy, at Rice University in Houston, Texas. He also is Co-Director of the Masters of Energy Economics program at Rice University. He also is 2022 President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), having previously served in that role in 2015. He also was President of the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) in 2012.

Professor Hartley has researched a range of issues in energy economics for 40 years. He also published papers and books in several other areas of economics, but for the last 25 years or so has concentrated on energy economics.

He completed a first class honors degree in mathematics in 1974, and a Masters Degree in Economics in 1977, at the Australian National University. From 1975-77, he worked for the Priorities Review Staff and the Economic Division of the Prime Minister's Department in the Australian Government. He obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1980. From 1980 to 1986 he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Princeton University. He has been at Rice University since 1986.

He also has held visiting positions in Australia at Monash University, the University of Melbourne, the Australian National University and, most recently, the University of Western Australia. He has also worked for public policy think tanks including the Tasman Institute in Melbourne, where he served as Executive Director in 1996-97.

Nevenka Hrovatin is a Professor of Economics at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana (SEB LU). Since 2004 she has been the head of the research group on Sustainable competitiveness of the Slovenian economy in European and global perspectives funded by the Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia. She teaches several economic courses: Microeconomics, Economics of the European Union, Industrial organisation, regulation and competition policy and Energy Economics. She was Vice-Dean for International Relations at SEB LU, chair of the Academic Unit for Economics and a member/chair of supervisory boards of several Slovenian companies and institutions, including the Energy Council of the Slovenian Prime Minister (2009-2011). She has been working in several national and international proejects and as a consultant to the Slovenian government, the Slovenian energy regulator Energy Agency and several utilities.

Stijn Van Hummelen is Managing Director of the Brussels Office at Cambridge Econometrics (CE). CE is an economic research consultancy that works globally from offices in Cambridge (UK), Brussels, Budapest and Northampton, Massachusetts. CE specialises in economic research and the application of economic modelling and data analysis techniques for policy assessment and scenario planning, with particular expertise in the application of whole-economy macro-sectoral models, notably the global E3ME model. Stijn has over 10 years of experience successfully conducting policy research for international organisations, government bodies and think tanks, including studies on the distributional impacts of decarbonisation policies, the regional impacts of the energy transition, the wider economic impact of internalising environmental external costs, and the economic impact of transport and household heating decarbonisation. In many of these studies, the global E3ME model is used to simulate transition pathways and scenarios, and inform policy recommendations based on their outcomes.

Vicente Hurtado Roa is the Head of the Unit in the European Commission responsible for Energy Taxation and other indirect taxes. His first steps in the Directorate General for Taxation started in 2006 when he was responsible for drafting the review of the Savings Directive before becoming the assistant to two previous Director Generals responsible for taxation. His experience in the European Commission also covers seven years in the Secretary General , working first on the European Semester and then in the relations with the European Council. Previously to join the European Commission, Vicente had been a tax consultant in Garrigues for ten years with an expertise in international taxation.

John W. Jimison is an attorney and energy policy expert, continuing a 50-year professional career as an energy-focused attorney and the Principal of Energy Future Services, Inc., his own firm.  He currently supports several non-profit energy and environmental organizations on a pro-bono basis, including the International Association for Energy Economics.  From 2011 to 2016 he was Managing Director of the Energy Future Coalition of the United Nations Foundation, and Adjunct Professor of Energy Policy at the Johns Hopkins University.  From 2007 to 2011, Mr. Jimison served as Senior Counsel to the Energy and Commerce Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, with lead staff responsibility for legislation concerning energy efficiency, electric grid modernization, energy markets, and strategic petroleum reserves.  He was responsible for staffing many current statutory provisions and negotiating their enactment.  Mr. Jimison practiced law from 1987 through 2006 in Federal and state forums, representing clients subject to federal and state natural gas regulation, cogeneration policy, and Canadian gas import issues.  From 1982-1985, he was Principal Administrator at the International Energy Agency in Paris, France, responsible for electricity and natural gas policy and analysis, as well as the designated country expert for Spain and Australia.  During the period from 1972 through 1981 he held several positions on Capitol Hill, including a previous period as Counsel to the Energy and Commerce Committee, service as Head of the Energy Section of the Congressional Research Service (Library of Congress), and as Professional Staff to the Senate Commerce Committee. 

Mr. Kalaitzakis has extensive experience in the energy sector, and he is currently the Strategy & Business Development Director of EnExGroup. Before joining EnExGroup he was employed as the Managing Director of the energy unit of a major industrial group in Greece. He held different engineering roles in the energy sector both in Greece and the United States in the past. His experience spans a wide array of topics on energy such as market design, transmission planning, power trading, investment evaluation, and business strategy.

Mr. Kalaitzakis holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also holds an MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA with Highest Honors from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Professor Soteris Kalogirou is at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology, Limassol, Cyprus. He is currently the Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology. In addition to his Ph.D., he holds the title of D.Sc. He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Founding Member of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts.

For more than 35 years, he is actively involved in research in the area of solar energy and particularly in flat plate and concentrating collectors, solar water heating, solar steam generating systems, desalination, photovoltaics, geothermal energy and absorption cooling.

He has a large number of publications in books, book chapters, international scientific journals and refereed conference proceedings. He is Editor-in-Chief of Renewable Energy and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Energy, and Editorial Board Member of another twenty journals. He is the editor of the book Artificial Intelligence in Energy and Renewable Energy Systems, published by Nova Science Inc., co-editor of the book Soft Computing in Green and Renewable Energy Systems, published by Springer, editor of the book McEvoy’s Handbook of Photovoltaics, published by Academic Press of Elsevier and author of the books Solar Energy Engineering: Processes and Systems, and Thermal Solar Desalination: Methods and Systems, published by Academic Press of Elsevier.

Dr S.Kapellos is a graduate of the Chemical Department of the University of Athens. He received a PhD on the field of Physical Chemistry from the same Institution. Between 1993 and 2007, he had the opportunity to fill various managerial posts within the BP Hellas Organization: Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, Human Resources, Customer Services, Pricing and Credit, Retail Fuels District Manager Northern Greece.
In 2007, he is appointed as the CEO of BP Solar Hellas, to setup the new business.
Since 2010, he works for ELPE Renewables (100% owned by HELPE Group). He currently holds the position of the Chief Operating Officer and BoD member of the company. Τhe RES portfolio of ELPE Renewables is comprised of more than 2000 MW of PV, Wind and Storage Projects, of which 241 MW PV and 99 MW Wind in operation. In February 2020, the acquisition of a 204 MW PV project in Kozani is signed that has been constructed and connected to the Grid in April 2022. This is the largest in operation RES project in Greece and one of the largest PV projects in Europe. Dr.S.Kapellos, has been, on behalf of HELPE, the Lead Negotiator and then the Project Manager and the Managing Director of the Kozani 204 MW PV Project companies.
Dr.S.Kapellos has published several scientific articles in international magazines during his academic career and several articles on subjects related to RES, Solar Technology and Energy Policy for newspapers, relevant magazines and e-media.
Since 2008, he is being an elected member of the board of the Hellenic Association of PV companies (HELAPCO) and since April 2013 Chairman of the board of the Association. Since April 2021 he has been elected as President of the Energy Committee of the Hellenic-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

John Karydas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Renewable and Battery Storage Business Unit of Copelouzos Group.

Copelouzos Group was founded in 1973 and today has evolved to a fully integrated business development organization, servicing key industrial and technological sectors in Greece and abroad. One important business sector of the Group is energy with the core businesses within this sector being the marketing of natural gas, the electricity production and trading and the development and construction of renewable energy projects. Copelouzos Group has been a pioneer in the RES sector with an extensive portfolio of renewable energy assets and the first who has received Production Licenses for the operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems in the country.

John Karydas has been Member of the Board of Directors of Athens International Airport from June 2009 until November 2012, Member of the Supervisory Board of Pulkovo Airport, St. Petersburg from February 2010 until August 2011. From 2005 until 2011 he also held the position of the Chief Operating Officer of Copelouzos Group. Olga Khakova is the associate director for European energy security at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center, where she manages transatlantic energy initiatives. Before joining the Atlantic Council, Khakova was a senior program coordinator for US Energy Association’s Energy Technology and Governance Program. She helped start and coordinate the Western Balkans’ Electricity Market Initiative working group, which provides technical expertise on creating better-connected electricity markets.

Khakova also worked as a program director for a leading energy non-profit in the Midwest, The Climate + Energy Project (CEP). While at CEP she co-led the conception and development of the Clean Energy Business Council, a network of businesses seeking to capitalize on renewable energy resources in Kansas and the greater Kansas City area through legislative, regulatory, and educational solutions. Khakova facilitated state-wide stakeholder engagement on energy issues, such as education and outreach on rate design dockets at the Kansas Corporation Commission. During her time at Bombardier Aerospace, Khakova organized events and developed communications strategies in Brazil, Canada, China, and the US for a distinguished human factors safety program called Safety Standdown.

Khakova has a business administration degree from Wichita State University and a professional science masters in environmental assessment from the University of Kansas. She is originally from Ukraine.

Strauss fellow for geoeconomics at the Office of the US Trade Representative. David has also worked at the World Trade Organization in Geneva and at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna.

David holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from the University of Oxford. José Maillet is a marketing professor. He is an expert in energy, climate and biodiversity issues and leads Gaïa, Audencia's School for Ecological and Social Transition. Gaïa is the very first school launched by a business school - Audencia - dedicated to training in positive impact managerial strategies and practices, in line with the major challenges of ecological and social transition.He holds a Master's degree in Social and Human Sciences, Sociology of Organizations from the University of Nantes (2007), and is also an Audencia Grande Ecole (2011) and Doctor of Management Sciences and Marketing (Audencia, 2019) alumnus. He was head of the Marketing major at Audencia from 2016 to 2019. He also supported Nantes Métropole in the CSR criterization of its public markets.

Manos Manousakis is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer of Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE) since June 2017.

Previously, Mr. Manousakis was the CEO of OTE Rural North and South, having held various positions of responsibility in the Greek Telecommunications Company, where he played an instrumental role in the design of cutting-edge telecommunication services. He was appointed Secretary General of the Hellenic Ministry of Economy (2015), as well as a Director at Black Sea Trade and Development Bank for the same period.

Charles Mason is the H. A. "Dave" True, Jr. Chair in Petroleum and Natural Gas Economics in the Department of Economics and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming.  He is an internationally known scholar who specializes in Environmental and Resource Economics with over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.  He testified in the case against BP related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He served as the managing editor of the top international journal in the field of Environmental and Resource Economics (the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management), from 2006 to 2011.  He is currently an associate editor of the European Economic Review, co-editor of Economic Inquiry, editor-in-chief of the Economics of Energy & Environmental Policy and joint editor-in-chief of Strategic Behavior in the Environment.  He earned a double B.A. in Economics and Mathematics in 1977 and a Ph.D. in Economics in 1983, all at the University of California at Berkeley.  He is a non-resident fellow at Resources for the Future, and has been a visiting academic at the University of Cambridge (2003); the London School of Economics (2014, 2015); the University of Oxford (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012); the Venice International University, Ca’ Foscari (2013); and the Toulouse School of Economics (2013).  He has been on the faculty at the University of Wyoming since 1982.

With an educational background of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the National Technical University of Athens, and post-graduate studies in business in UMIST and the Manchester Business School in the early ‘90s, all his professional career was in Sales and Marketing positions. After a route through companies and brands like Unilever, Samsung and FAGE, he joined Fysiko Aerio- The Hellenic Energy Company, where he started as a Marketing Manager in 2006, moved to the Commercial Director position in 2009, and finally became the General Manager in January 2017.

Panos Mitrou has been with LR for more than 14 years and currently holds the position of Global Gas Segment Manager, based in Piraeus. His primary focus is on areas like the seaborne gas supply chain, LNG and other gas as fuel,as well as gas floating solutions, delivering an enhanced service portfolio to shipping community. He has held commercial and technology positions since 2012 and has been deeply involved in the setup and materialization of several funded projects related to alternative fuels and innovation in the maritime sector. Since 2013, he has initiated Poseidon Med, a key cross-border European project, introducing LNG bunkering in Easter Mediterranean marine transportation.

During his seven year service with Lloyd’s Register Piraeus Technical Support Office, he has dealt with series of statutory and other reviews, ranging from BWM to MARPOL and the IBC and IGC Codes. In this context he has supported and lead the implementation of several pieces of new legislation. Since 2007 he has represented Lloyd’s Register in a number of international forums, conferences and projects.

Panos holds a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer Diploma from NTUA and an MBA in Shipping from ALBA Business School. He is currently a PhD candidate in Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, at University of Strathclyde with focus on optimizing the shipping decarbonization pathway.

Pavlos Mylonas was appointed Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Greece in July 2018. He was elected Executive Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy CEO of the National Bank of Greece (NBG) in June 2014.  

He was appointed Chief Risk Officer in December 2013. He is a Member of the Executive Committee since 2012 and of the ALCO Committee of the Group since 2000.

Prof. Dr. Anne Neumann is full professor at the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology at NTNU, Director of Research for NTNU’s Energy Transition Initiative (NETI) and MIT-CEEPR Affiliate. Currently she is also co-chairing a working group for the European Academy of Science Advisory Council (EASAC) on “The future of gas”. Previously she worked as Senior Researcher in the Department Energy, Transport, Environment at DIW Berlin, was Professor for Economic Policy at the University of Potsdam and Assistant Professor at NHH Bergen. Her research experience of 15+ years draws on industrial organization, competition economics and econometrics and has provided academic as well as policy relevant publications and advice. From 2014 until 2018 she served as Vice-President for Publications in the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE; The Energy Journal), is currently Editor with Energy Policy and on the Editorial Board of Economics of Energy and Environmental Policy. She has participated in several interdisciplinary EU projects, projects funded by the German Ministry for Education and Research and commissioned studies. Anne has international teaching experience, (co-) supervised PhD students from several universities and developed research agendas across disciplines. She studied economics at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder and holds a PhD in economics from TU Dresden.

Miguel Palacios is a Professor of Management at ESCP Business School, as well as the Executive Education Associate Academic Dean at the Madrid Campus. He has been the last 8 years the Madrid Academic Director of several energy programs, masters and courses. He also coordinates several research projects on innovation and family business and is the PI of ESCP Business School at the EU recognized Digital Innovation Hub in Artificial Intelligence & Robotics for Sustainable Development Goals (DIH - AIR4S).

He has supervised several PhD thesis in Spain and Sweden on innovation and is also currently the PhD Advisor of two students. His areas of research and publications are Business Models, Innovation and Family Business across industries and more specialized in the energy sector. He regularly serves as evaluator of European projects and advisor of start up companies.

In 1992, he graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris (MSc in Electronics), then, in 1994, from Universidad  Politecnica (UPM) de Madrid (BSc and MSc in Industrial and Electrical Engineering). Over the course of his career, he worked at Alcatel and Alenia Space from 1993 to 1997 as a Development Engineer in the R&D Department, Industrial Electronics production facility, then as a Project Manager, Operations Department. From 1999 to 2001, he worked as a Management Consulting Manager at Cluster (now Oliver Wyman), in the areas of strategy, marketing and start-up development. From end of 2001 until September 2012 he was a faculty member at UPM where he taught Marketing, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, managed the Business Administration Faculty Unit and several EU recognized international masters, one specialized in energy. He has taken part in the area of Business Planning in the European Commission funded project Eureca and coordinated the participation of ESCP in the EU funded project STARS4ALL.

Dr. Spiros Papaefthimiou received his bachelor diploma in Physics (1995), MSc in Environmental Sciences (1997) and PhD specializing in smart energy saving devices for buildings (2001), all from Department of Physics at the University of Patras. He is currently Associate Professor in Energy Management Systems and Energy Efficiency Technologies, in the School of Production Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Crete in Greece. He is specialized in energy efficiency issues, energy saving applications and renewables’ technologies. His research interests include experimental preparation and characterization of energy saving devices, technology of “smart” materials for energy applications, study of advanced solar collectors, study of photovoltaics, energy characterization of building structural elements, environmental analysis of systems, maritime emissions modeling, Life Cycle Assessment & Eco-Efficiency analysis. He has published more than 40 papers in international journals and has presented papers to numerous international energy conferences and acted as referee for international journals in the area of Renewables and Energy efficiency applications. He is the President of the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics and member in various professional and academic associations.

Dr. Georgios Papaefthymiou works as a Principal Consultant in Elia Grid International, leading the solution domain of Net-Zero Power System transition. He holds an MSc on Power Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece with focus on High Voltage equipment technology, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology. Georgios has 20 years of professional experience in the power sector on technical, economic and policy aspects related to power system and markets development. Clara Poletti is Commissioner of the Italian independent Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (ARERA), Chair of the Board of Regulators of the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and ARERA delegate at the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER).

She has more than twenty years’ experience in the field. As far back as 1997, she contributed to the start-up of the Italian independent energy regulator. Since then, she has worked on the regulation of energy, water and waste management services at both national and European level.

From 2007 to 2011, she was Director of the Bocconi University research centre on energy and environment (IEFE). She was also a founding joint academic director at the Centre on Regulation in Europe (CERRE). She is member of the Advisory Council Executive Committee of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and associate researcher of the Cambridge Energy Policy Research Group.

She is the author of numerous scientific articles.

Michael Pollitt is Professor of Business Economics at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is an Assistant Director of the Energy Policy Research Group (EPRG) and a joint academic director of the Centre on Regulation in Europe (CERRE). Michael is a Fellow in Economics and Management at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. Michael was external economic advisor to Ofgem from 2007 to 2011. He has published 13 books and over 100 refereed journal articles on efficiency analysis, energy policy and business ethics. His current research interests are in market design and regulation for a high renewables electricity system, carbon markets and productivity analysis of the energy sector. He is Vice President for Publications of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) for 2020-23.

Markus Popp has been working in the field of energy for more than 20 years. He has been part of the Omexom network for close to seven years. In his professional career he has worked for academic institutions and for the industry, such as, a Visiting Faculty at Harvard University, USA, the Cyprus University of Technology (Professor of Power Systems and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering) and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (founder and director of the Research and Development Department). _{Ms. Gulmira Rzayeva is a Research Associate at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES) and visiting research fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy of Columbia University. She is also on board of directorate of the Institute for Effective Governance and Stabilization based in Stockholm, Sweden. She is a founder and managing director of the London-based Eurasia Analytics Ltd consulting company. She was a senior research fellow at the Center for Strategic Studies (SAM) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for last ten years until January 2019. Her area of expertise includes energy security covering issues such as the energy policy of Azerbaijan and East Europe/Caspian region, Turkish domestic natural gas market, SEE gas market, global natural gas market, gas-to-hydrogen etc. Ms Rzayeva is recognized worldwide for her reports and seminal articles about energy focusing on the region, as well as for her speeches in some of the most prestigious universities including Harvard University, think-tanks and prestigious international conferences world-wide. Ms. Rzayeva has published several scholarly publications focusing on her area of expertise.}

Éric Scotto is a committed entrepreneur, combining his talents as an investor with his concern for the climate. After ten years in information technology, two years in finance and a first success in business creation, he created Perfect Wind and built a first wind farm of 54 MW in 2004. Perfect Wind became a leader in the production of renewable electricity and was acquired by the world's leading wind power company Iberdrola in 2006.

In 2007, he co-founded Akuo, a global independent producer and developer of renewable energy. The company is active across the entire value chain, spanning from project development to financing, construction and operation activities. Akuo has invested over €2.6 billions to build a portfolio of over 1.4 GW of assets in operation or under construction and a 7 GW development pipeline. With more than 450 employees, the group is headquartered in Paris, France, and operates in more than 15 countries spanning over the 5 continents.

In 2010, the group inaugurated its first Agrinergie® power plant on Reunion Island, which combines solar energy production with environmentally friendly agriculture. Since this conclusive experience, Éric Scotto has continued to develop renewable energy plants (wind farms, solar and hydroelectric power plants) throughout the world with the ambition of offering energy packages adapted to the territories and coupled with storage solutions.

In 2011, Eric Scotto participated in the creation of the Akuo Foundation. The Foundation extends the values of the Akuo group to the benefits of disadvantaged communities. Aiming to ensure the access to essential needs such as energy, education, water and health, it designs and deploys local solutions answering the challenges of climate change, sustainable development and biodiversity protection. 

In 2017, Akuo developed its own participatory financing platform, AkuoCoop. This tool allows Akuo to further deepen its collaboration with all stakeholders in the territories.

In 2019, Eric Scotto co-founded Sunstyle International SAS, a joint venture between Akuo and Sunstyle AG. The launch of the production of solar tiles in Châtellerault in the Vienne region, France, was made official on 15 October 2020, in the presence of Barbara Pompili, then French Minister for Ecological Transition. Today, Sunstyle tiles are being deployed on a global scale and have been integrated into major architectural projects like the French Pavilion at Dubai World Expo, Google's Mountain View headquarters in California, and others to be launched in the coming years.

In April 2021, he has co-edited "Les énergies renouvelables pour les Nuls" (Renewable energies for Dummies) with Arnaud Leroy, then CEO of ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency), a book published by First to help understand today's energy issues.

In March 2022, Akuo joined forces with Spyropoulos SA, a technical-commercial company with a leading position in the Greek market, to launch GEARS SA (Green Energy Aggregator Services), a new aggregator in Greece, allowing the company to expand in a new market segment while contributing to the optimization of solar power plants in different Greek regions.

Alexandra Sdoukou is a lawyer, permanent employee at the Management Organisation Unit of Development Programmes (MOU S.A.) under the Ministry of Economy and Development. Since 2004, she is working as legal advisor in the public administration in various positions at the Ministries of Economy, Development and Environment, Energy & Climate Change. She has been specialised as energy policymaker, working with all Energy Ministers from 2007 to 2015. From 2012 to 2015, she was Head of Cabinet at the Minister of Environment, Energy & Climate Change, competent to develop policy formulation, implementation and monitoring on a wide range of energy and environmental projects. From October 2017, she was Advisor to the President of Nea Dimokratia on energy and natural resources. Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Democritus University of Thrace, a Master’s Degree LLM in European Commercial Law from the University of Bristol U.K., and a M.Sc. in International & Economic studies from the Athens University of Economics & Business.

Adam Sieminski is the Senior Advisor to the Board of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center.  KAPSARC is a leading think tank located in Riyadh. Its mission is to advance Saudi Arabia’s energy sector and inform global policies on energy, economics, and the environment. He served as the President of KAPSARC from April 2018 to August 2021, and before that held the Schlesinger Chair for Energy & Geopolitics at CSIS. From 2012 through 2016 he served as head of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). While awaiting Senate confirmation for EIA, he was Senior Director for Energy and Environment at the U.S. National Security Council. Earlier, he was Deutsche Bank’s chief energy economist and integrated oil company analyst, working in Baltimore, London, New York, and Washington. Sieminski holds the CFA designation and earned a BS degree in Civil Engineering and a Master in Public Administration, both from Cornell University.

Aristofanis (Aris) Stefatos, CEO of the Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA SA) holds a PhD in geology & geophysics, a master’s degree in Environmental Oceanography and a bachelors in Geology. For the last 15 years he has held senior and top management positions in private E&P companies in Norway and has been a founding partner of five Norwegian companies within the broader E&P sector, including companies developing innovative environmental and digitalization solutions. Through his 24 years of work experience, Mr. Stefatos has also worked with the technical maturation of exploration prospects and drilling. He has worked in geological basins in Europe, North America, Indian ocean, West Coast of Africa, and South East Asia. He has a proven track record of five oil and gas discoveries in the Norwegian and the Barents Sea.

Anastasios Tosios is the Deputy CEO & Executive Member of the Board of Directors at EYDAP SA (Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company).
Until 2002, he held positions in management, consulting, sales, and supervision of electromechanical constructions, in various companies in Thessaloniki and Athens. During the period 2002 - 2016, he worked for EPA Attiki S.A. (Attiki Gas Supply Company), holding successively the positions of Key Account Manager, B2B Sales Manager, Customer Technical Service Director and finally, that of Technical Director. From 2017 till mid-2019, following the successful split of EPA Attiki in 2016 in two companies for Supply and Distribution respectively, he undertook the positions of Distribution Operating (Technical and Commercial) Director and then, that of Commercial Director at the newly established EDA Attikis SA (Attiki Natural Gas Distribution Company).
He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, an MSc in Technical Change and Industrial Strategy from the Alliance Manchester Business School, UK, as well as an Executive Diploma in Business Administration from ALBA Graduate Business School, Greece. He has also completed the Leadership Development Program Advanced (PLDA) at Harvard Business School, USA.
He has extensive experience in utilities and energy market being a member of management teams since 2009. Stijn Van Hummelen is Managing Director of the Brussels Office at Cambridge Econometrics (CE). CE is an economic research consultancy that works globally from offices in Cambridge (UK), Brussels, Budapest and Northampton, Massachusetts. CE specialises in economic research and the application of economic modelling and data analysis techniques for policy assessment and scenario planning, with particular expertise in the application of whole-economy macro-sectoral models, notably the global E3ME model. The scope of CE’s work includes Economy (innovation, infrastructure, tax & finance, sectors, trade & competitiveness and regions, cities & local areas), Society (jobs & skills, inequality & poverty, population, migration & housing and health & social care), and Environment (energy, climate, circular economy and natural resources).

Stijn specialises in distilling complex economic and econometric analysis into policy-relevant messages, and manages CE’s contribution to consultancy and research projects in the field of climate, energy and the circular economy. Stijn has over 10 years of experience successfully conducting policy research for international organisations, government bodies and think tanks, including studies on the distributional impacts of decarbonisation policies, the regional impacts of the energy transition, the wider economic impact of internalising environmental external costs, and the economic impact of transport and household heating decarbonisation. In many of these studies, the global E3ME model is used to simulate transition pathways and scenarios, and inform policy recommendations based on their outcomes.

Julidé Yasar Sonjoux, 49 years old, graduated in Management of Global supply chains (ISTELLI Paris) is currently completing an Executive MBA at Kedge Business School. She began her career in Paris in 1994 as a Supply Chain executive and managed various supply chain activities in France and Turkey. In 2007, she founded in Istanbul a regulatory affairs consulting company, which she managed until 2018. Back in France, she joined the Maritime Union of Marseille-Fos to manage shipping and petrochemical projects.

She has extensive experience in the maritime and port ecosystem as well as the challenges in terms of innovation and energy transition of the maritime sector.

Since 2021, she has headed France Gaz Maritime, the French maritime gas cluster which gathers energy providers, shipowners, ports and OEMs to support energy transition and decarbonization of maritime transport.

Adonis Yatchew’s research focuses on energy, regulation and econometrics. Since completing his Ph.D. at Harvard University, he has taught at the University of Toronto. He has also held visiting appointments at Trinity College, Cambridge and the University of Chicago, among others. He has written a graduate level text on semiparametric regression techniques published by Cambridge University Press. He has served in various editorial capacities at The Energy Journal since 1995 and is currently the Editor-in-Chief. He has advised public and private sector companies on energy, regulatory and other matters for over 35 years and has provided testimony in numerous regulatory and litigation procedures. He currently teaches PhD. level courses in econometrics, M.A. and undergraduate level courses in energy economics and regulation, and a course on energy economics, politics/geopolitics, security and sustainability in the School of Environment.

Yiannis Yiarentis is the Chairman of BoD and CEO at the Renewable Energy Sources Operator & Guarantees of Origin (DAPEEP) from August 2019 until today. He holds a significant Greek and International experience in top management positions, in both private and public sector, with the most important, that of the Chairman of the BoD and CEO of IPTO (ADMIE) from 2013 to 2015 when he paved the way for major electrical Interconnections with Greek islands (Cyclades) and all major infrastructure projects, such as the Megalopolis HVC, the interconnection of Polypotamos and many more projects that breathed life into the Electric System. Before that he had a long-term international career in large Multinational and Greek companies in the Energy field (Shell, Petros Petropoulos). Also, through his career and academic backround, he has focused and developed in-depth knowledge and expertise in the energy industry.

He worked for more than 27 years for Oil companies, in several roles in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement. Between 2010 - 2013, he served as Shell Marine Supply Chain and Supply & Logistics Manager for Shell BU in Petros Petropoulos AEBE (successor of Shell Lubricants business of Shell Hellas). From 1986 to 2010 he worked for Shell companies (Shell Hellas, Shell International Petroleum Company, Shell Europe Oil Products), in different managerial roles in the areas of Contracting and Procurement, Marine, Supply Chain, Logistics, Production Operations, HSSE and Quality (Assurance and Control).

He was member of the Greek National Energy Committee, Member of ENTSO-e General Assembly and MED-TSO GA. Before that, he was also member of the National Committee for Logistics and Supply Chain.

Yiannis Yiarentis holds a degree in Petroleum Chemistry and Production and Management Engineering from Polytechnic school of Democritus University and a postgraduate degree Msc in Sustainable Development from Harokopeio University.
